Shoreline rehabilitation project (Phase 1)

This eroded shoreline was unattractive to look at and unproductive for fishing. Look at the entire series of photos to see our improvements.

 

Shoreline rehabilitation project (Phase 2)

The steep shoreline was graded to a gentle 5:1 slope by heavy equipment. We then seeded the wet slope by hand with moisture-tolerant warm-season grasses.

 

Shoreline rehabilitation project (Phase 3)

The slope was then protected with a biodegradable coconut erosion blanket. A 12" diameter coconut fiber BIOLOG was then installed to protect the shoreline above the fabric from wave action. The fabric and BIOLOG was then hand-planted with wetland plants.
